This is a screen shot from the up coming movie Dredd. The reason why I chose to look at these buildings was their concept and architectural feel. Brisbane could very well look like this in the future although personally we may not want it to be so. The concept behind these buildings is that they are an all in one building almost like mini cities under one roof. Although the scale is very disproportionate to the Padding Central scheme, the notion of an all in one structure is something I wanted to pursue in my design solution.
The facades of the buildings also mask what is going on inside. This has its pros and cons as mystery is inviting however if it is too shut off it would turn people away.
