Developing the roof terraces was an enjoyable process. I wanted to express the essence of the internal structure through the abstracted honeycomb shapes. I also quite like Art Deco as an architectural style and wated to incorporate this in the design also.
To make the roof terrace secure and safe to be upon, handrails needed to be put in place. At this stage in the design I was still influenced with the prison esque feel and incorporated that into the bar like vertical balustrade elements. Some distinction in height was brought in to break up the long runs.
